Here's the thing to know about pairing masterwort with rabeprazole: this isn't about how your body breaks the medication down. It's about your skin and the sun. Masterwort contains furanocoumarins, the same plant chemicals that can make skin more sensitive to sunlight. Rabeprazole itself can occasionally cause sun sensitivity too, so the worry is that stacking the two together might add up and make you burn or react more easily in the sun.

I'll be honest, this caution is theoretical and based on how these compounds behave, not on real reports of people running into trouble. Rabeprazole rarely causes this on its own. Still, if you take masterwort, be smart about sunscreen and covering up, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Modern scientific evidence to support these uses is very limited, and the plant can cause skin reactions to sunlight, so use it cautiously and talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Rabeprazole

What Is Rabeprazole Used For?

Brand names: Aciphex, Aciphex Sprinkle

Rabeprazole delayed-release tablets treat a range of acid-related conditions in adults, including healing and maintenance of erosive or ulcerative GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), symptomatic GERD, duodenal ulcers, and pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. They are also used alongside antibiotics (amoxicillin and clarithromycin) to eradicate H. pylori bacteria and reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer coming back.

In adolescents 12 years and older, rabeprazole delayed-release tablets are approved for short-term treatment of symptomatic GERD. Both AcipHex and Rabeprazole Sodium delayed-release tablets share this indication set for adults and adolescents 12 and older.
