Here's the thing to know about pairing masterwort with ketoprofen. This isn't about how your body breaks the drug down or how strong the pain relief is. It's about your skin. Ketoprofen is well known for making skin more sensitive to sunlight, and that can show up even with the gel you rub on a sore joint. Masterwort contains furanocoumarins, plant chemicals that do the same thing.

Put them together and the effect may stack, so you could sunburn faster or break out in a rash on sun-exposed skin. This concern is theoretical, based on how both work, not on strong studies. Still, it's smart to be careful with sun and to check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Modern scientific evidence to support these uses is very limited, and the plant can cause skin reactions to sunlight, so use it cautiously and talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Ketoprofen Used For?

Brand names: Orudis, Oruvail Gel, Powergel, Oruvail Injection

Ketoprofen capsules (including the brand Orudis) are used to manage the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, to treat pain, and to treat primary dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual periods).

Ketoprofen extended-release capsules are approved for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis only. Because of the way they slowly release the drug, ketoprofen extended-release capsules are not recommended for treating acute (sudden) pain.
