Here's the thing to know about pairing masterwort with your Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil) injection: this isn't about how your body breaks down the medication. Instead, both can make your skin more reactive to sunlight. Masterwort contains furanocoumarins that boost sun sensitivity, and aripiprazole is already on the list of medicines that can do the same. Stack them together and you may sunburn faster or get a rash after less time outdoors than you'd expect.

I'll be honest with you, this concern is based on how these compounds behave, not on strong human studies, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, it's easy to play it safe. Use sunscreen, cover up outside, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding masterwort.

Aripiprazole injection is used to treat schizophrenia and to provide maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder in adults. Different injectable products carry these approvals.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
