Here's the thing with this combination: it's not about how your body breaks down aripiprazole or how strong the medicine works. Instead, it's about your skin and the sun. Masterwort contains plant compounds called furanocoumarins that can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Aripiprazole, on its own, can also occasionally make you more prone to sunburn. Put the two together and you may burn faster or get a rash more easily after time outdoors.

I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave rather than strong patient studies. It won't change how well your aripiprazole treats your mood or symptoms. Still, it's worth being smart about sun protection. Wear sunscreen, cover up, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding masterwort.
