Here's the thing to know about pairing masterwort with Protriptyline (Vivactil). This isn't about how your liver breaks the medicine down, and masterwort won't change how strong your antidepressant is. The concern is your skin. Masterwort contains furanocoumarins, which can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Protriptyline can do the same thing on its own, so using both together may stack that effect.

In plain terms, you might sunburn faster or break out in a rash after less sun than usual. This is a theoretical caution based on how both behave, not strong proof. Still, it's easy to play it safe with sunscreen, a hat, and shade. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
