Here's the simple version. Both masterwort and Limbitrol DS (the amitriptyline plus chlordiazepoxide combo) can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Masterwort contains furanocoumarins, the same compounds that cause that reaction, and amitriptyline is known to do this too. Stack them together and you may sunburn faster or break out in a rash after even modest sun exposure.

This concern is based on how these compounds behave, not on strong human studies, so think of it as a reasonable precaution rather than a proven danger. If you take Limbitrol and want to try masterwort, check with your pharmacist or doctor first. In the meantime, wear sunscreen, cover up, and limit time in strong sun. Please don't stop your medication on your own.
