Here's the thing to know about pairing masterwort with lisinopril: this isn't about masterwort changing how your blood pressure medicine works. Lisinopril will still lower your blood pressure just the same. The concern is purely about your skin and the sun.

Masterwort contains furanocoumarins, plant chemicals that can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Lisinopril is also listed among medicines that can do this, though it's a fairly uncommon effect. Put them together and you may sunburn faster or break out in a rash with less sun than usual. To be clear, this is a theoretical concern based on how these chemicals behave, not strong proof. If you'd like to try masterwort, just check with your pharmacist first and be smart with sunscreen and shade.

Modern scientific evidence to support these uses is very limited, and the plant can cause skin reactions to sunlight, so use it cautiously and talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Lisinopril

What Is Lisinopril Used For?

Brand names: Zestril, Prinivil, Qbrelis

Lisinopril treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children 6 years and older, and can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medicines. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. The tablet combination product containing lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide is specifically indicated for high blood pressure.

Lisinopril is also used as an add-on therapy to reduce signs and symptoms of systolic heart failure, and to reduce the risk of death in people who are hemodynamically stable (have reasonably stable circulation) within 24 hours of an acute heart attack (acute myocardial infarction).
