Here's the simple version: both masterwort and danazol can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Masterwort contains furanocoumarins (the same kind of compounds found in grapefruit and many carrot-family plants), and these are known to ramp up sun sensitivity. Danazol can do the same thing on its own. Put them together and the effect may add up, so you could sunburn faster or react more strongly to UV light than you'd expect.

I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical and based on how these substances behave, not on strong human studies. Still, it's an easy one to plan around. If you do use both, be smart about sun: cover up, use sunscreen, and limit midday exposure. And please check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting masterwort while you're on danazol.

Modern scientific evidence to support these uses is very limited, and the plant can cause skin reactions to sunlight, so use it cautiously and talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Danazol Used For?

Brand names: Cyclomen, Danocrine

Danazol capsules are used to treat endometriosis — a condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing pain and sometimes infertility. It works by suppressing the hormonal cycle that drives this abnormal tissue growth.

Danazol capsules are also used to prevent attacks of hereditary angioedema — a genetic condition that causes episodes of severe swelling in the skin, abdomen, face, and airway. All types of attacks (cutaneous, abdominal, and laryngeal) can be prevented with danazol.
