Simvastatin, Sitagliptin falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Gotu Kola interacts with.

Theoretically, taking gotu kola with hepatotoxic drugs might have additive adverse effects.
There are at least four case reports of hepatotoxicity associated with the use of gotu kola. However, more information is needed to determine if gotu kola was the causative factor in these cases.

Here's the simple version: the concern with combining gotu kola and Juvisync (which is simvastatin plus sitagliptin) isn't about one speeding up or slowing down the other. It's about the liver. Both the statin part of this medicine and gotu kola have, on rare occasions, been linked to liver irritation. Stacking them together could, in theory, add up and put a little more stress on your liver.

I'll be honest with you, this is a theoretical worry built on just a few scattered case reports, so it's far from proven. Still, watch for signs like unusual tiredness, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or pain in the upper right belly. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding gotu kola, especially if you already have any liver concerns.
