ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Canagliflozin, Metformin
Canagliflozin, Metformin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Guarumo interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Invokamet combines two diabetes medicines, canagliflozin and metformin, that both work to bring your blood sugar down. Guarumo tea may also nudge blood sugar lower on its own. When you stack them together, the effects can add up, so your numbers might dip lower than you expect. That can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, hunger, or a headache if your sugar drops too far.
To be fair, the evidence here is modest and comes from lower quality studies, so this isn't a guaranteed problem. Still, it makes sense to keep a closer eye on your blood sugar if you add guarumo. Don't change your Invokamet dose on your own. Have a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor first so they can guide you safely.

About Guarumo
What is Guarumo?
- Type 2 diabetes / blood sugar support
- High blood pressure
- Cough, asthma, and bronchitis
- Heart failure symptoms
- Liver and rheumatic complaints
Guarumo (Cecropia obtusifolia) is a tropical tree used in Latin American traditional medicine, most often as a leaf tea for diabetes and high blood pressure. Some early laboratory and small human studies suggest it may modestly affect blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a chronic condition or take medication.
