Dasiglucagon Hydrochloride falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Guarumo interacts with.

Some clinical evidence suggests that drinking tea prepared with guarumo leaf might lower blood glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Theoretically, guarumo might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's a bit of a twist with this pairing. Dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) isn't a daily diabetes pill. It's an emergency rescue shot you use when blood sugar drops dangerously low. It works in the opposite direction of most diabetes drugs by telling your liver to dump stored sugar into your blood and raise it back up fast.

The interaction on file is about guarumo tea gently lowering blood sugar, which adds to drugs that also lower it. Dasiglucagon does the reverse, so the two are working against each other rather than stacking up. In a real emergency, guarumo shouldn't stop your rescue shot from working, but its blood sugar effect is mild and the evidence is limited. If you use guarumo regularly, please mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

Zegalogue is used to treat severe hypoglycemia — a dangerously low blood sugar episode — in adults and children aged 6 years and older who have diabetes. Severe hypoglycemia is a medical emergency that requires immediate action.

Zegalogue is not a day-to-day diabetes medicine. It is prescribed as an emergency kit to be on hand in case a person with diabetes becomes unresponsive or cannot safely swallow food or juice to raise their blood sugar.
