These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Hemp Agrimony interacts with whole categories of medication. Aprocitentan falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Hemp Agrimony in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Aprocitentan
Aprocitentan falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Hemp Agrimony interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the concern with pairing hemp agrimony and aprocitentan (Tryvio). This isn't about one speeding up or blocking the other. Instead, it's about two things that can each stress the liver being used at the same time. Hemp agrimony can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids, natural compounds known to be tough on the liver. Aprocitentan, which is used to help lower blood pressure that's hard to control, can also raise liver enzymes in some people.
Put them together and the worry is additive strain on your liver. Warning signs would include yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness. Honestly, this is theoretical and based on how these substances behave, not on strong human studies. Even so, since most experts advise against swallowing hemp agrimony at all, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INDUCERS
2 of 2Aprocitentan also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INDUCERS.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the key thing to understand: this concern runs the opposite direction from most interactions. Aprocitentan (Tryvio), a blood pressure medicine, can act as a mild CYP3A4 inducer, meaning it can speed up that liver enzyme. Hemp agrimony contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids, and the liver uses CYP3A4 to break those down into more toxic byproducts. So in theory, taking them together could ramp up the harmful liver metabolites from the herb, not change how well your blood pressure medicine works.
I'll be honest, this is only a laboratory-based idea, not something proven in people. Still, hemp agrimony is already discouraged for internal use because of its liver risk. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and don't change your Tryvio on your own.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aprocitentan page
“Aprocitentan (Tryvio) is prescribed when blood pressure stays high despite other medicines, so anything that pushes your pressure around cuts straight to why you take it. Most of the 189 ingredients here do exactly that: some add to the drop and can leave you dizzy or faint, while others, tyramine among them, push pressure back up and…”

About Hemp Agrimony
What is Hemp Agrimony?
- Digestive complaints
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Respiratory conditions
- Mild fever
- Traditional 'tonic' or detox use
Hemp agrimony is a traditional European herb that has been used for digestion, colds, and as a general tonic, but there is very little reliable human research to support these uses. More importantly, the plant can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids that may harm the liver, so most experts do not recommend taking it internally. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using any product that contains hemp agrimony.
About Aprocitentan
What Is Aprocitentan Used For?
Brand name: Tryvio
Tryvio is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults who are already taking other blood pressure medications but still don't have their blood pressure under control. It is always used in combination with other antihypertensive (blood pressure-lowering) drugs — not on its own.
Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including strokes and heart attacks. Tryvio has not been shown in controlled trials to directly reduce those events itself, but blood pressure control overall does.
