Some Palovarotene Products Have a Food Rule — Hemp Agrimony Should Not Break It

At least one FDA label for a product containing Palovarotene says to take it with food. If you take Hemp Agrimony on an empty stomach out of habit, keep them separate — and take Palovarotene with a meal where the label says to.

Food instructions belong to the product, not the ingredient: two Palovarotene products can carry different directions, and extended-release forms often differ from immediate-release ones. About Palovarotene

What Is Palovarotene Used For?

Brand name: Sohonos

Sohonos (palovarotene) is used to reduce the volume of new heterotopic ossification — abnormal bone that forms in muscles and soft tissue — in people with fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP). It is approved for adults and for children aged 8 years and older (females) and 10 years and older (males).

FOP is a rare genetic condition where the body progressively forms extra bone outside the skeleton, especially after injury or flare-ups. Sohonos is taken both as a daily maintenance dose and at higher doses when a flare-up occurs.
