Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Higenamine interacts with.
In vitro research shows that higenamine inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The piece of this combo product worth watching is the hydrocodone. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to convert hydrocodone into its stronger active form. Higenamine has been shown in lab dishes to block that same enzyme. If that blocking happened in people, it could shift how much active drug you get, which in theory might change the pain relief or the typical opioid side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or slowed breathing.
Here's the honest part: this is only seen in test-tube studies, not in real people, so it's theoretical. Higenamine itself is a heart and blood pressure stimulant with little proof it works, so I'd be cautious for that reason alone. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES

In vitro research shows that higenamine inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes by 21%. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

This combination product (Damason-P) pairs aspirin and caffeine with hydrocodone, an opioid for pain. The hydrocodone part is handled by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In a test-tube study, higenamine slowed that enzyme down a little (about 21%), which in theory could let hydrocodone build up slightly. If that happened, you might feel extra drowsiness, dizziness, slowed breathing, constipation, or nausea.
Honestly, this is theoretical. It has only been seen in lab dishes, not in real people, so the actual risk is uncertain. I'd still be cautious, since higenamine is a stimulant that raises heart rate and blood pressure, and the caffeine here adds to that. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS

Here's the thing to keep an eye on with this combo. Your Damason-P product already contains aspirin, which thins the blood a bit by keeping platelets from clumping together. In animal studies, higenamine showed a similar blood-thinning effect of its own. Stack the two and, at least in theory, you could nudge up the risk of easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or stomach bleeding.
I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. It's theoretical and based on animal research, not solid human data, so it's a caution rather than a red alert. Higenamine's stimulant effects on heart rate and blood pressure, layered on top of the caffeine here, actually concern me more. Please run this whole product by your pharmacist before mixing them.

Higenamine has stimulant effects due to agonist activity at beta2-adrenoreceptors. In cardiac muscle, higenamine appears to have a positive inotropic effect and increase heart rate. However, it does not appear to increase blood pressure.

The piece of this combo that matters most here is the caffeine. Both caffeine and higenamine act as stimulants, so stacking them can add up. On paper, that means a faster or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, and feeling wired or anxious. Higenamine seems to nudge heart rate up without raising blood pressure much, but the worry is the extra strain on your heart when two stimulants are on board.
I want to be honest: this concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave rather than strong human studies. Still, since higenamine product labels are often inaccurate and this medicine also contains hydrocodone, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
