Theoretically, horny goat weed might increase the risk of bleeding.
In vitro research and animal research shows that horny goat weed can inhibit platelet aggregation and thrombus formation. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the honest picture: this concern comes from horny goat weed itself, not from how abrocitinib (Cibinqo) is processed. In lab dishes and animal studies, compounds in this herb seem to make platelets (the cells that help your blood clot) a little less sticky. On paper, that could nudge up your risk of bruising or bleeding.

Why it matters with abrocitinib is that this JAK inhibitor can lower your platelet counts on its own, especially in the first weeks. So you'd be stacking two things that may affect clotting. Just to be clear, this bleeding effect has never actually been shown in people, and it's based on weak lab evidence. Still, watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

What Is Abrocitinib Used For?

Brand name: Cibinqo

Cibinqo (abrocitinib) is used to treat moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults and children 12 years of age and older. It is specifically for people whose eczema has not been adequately controlled with other systemic (whole-body) treatments, including biologics, or when those treatments are not a safe option.

Cibinqo is not recommended to be used at the same time as other JAK inhibitors, biologic immunomodulators, or other immunosuppressants (medicines that reduce immune system activity).
