Secobarbital Sodium falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) SUBSTRATES — the group Horny Goat Weed interacts with.

Theoretically, horny goat weed might increase the effects and side effects of CYP2B6 substrates.
In vitro, horny goat weed leaf extract inhibits CYP2B6. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for combining horny goat weed with Seconal (secobarbital). Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2B6 to help break this barbiturate down. In lab dish studies, horny goat weed appears to slow that enzyme. If that same thing happened in people, your secobarbital could clear out more slowly and build up, which might make its effects stronger than expected.

With a sleep medicine like this, that could mean extra drowsiness, grogginess the next day, confusion, or slowed breathing, especially worrying if you take other sedatives or alcohol. That said, this is only a theoretical concern seen in test tubes, never confirmed in humans. Still, secobarbital is a potent drug, so please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.
