These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Humann Superbeets Heart Chews interacts with whole categories of medication. Carvedilol falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Humann Superbeets Heart Chews in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Minor).
Antihypertensive Drugs
1 of 2Why this applies to Carvedilol
Carvedilol falls under Antihypertensive Drugs — the group Humann Superbeets Heart Chews interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: carvedilol (Coreg) already lowers your blood pressure and slows your heart rate. The beetroot in these chews provides nitrates, which your body turns into nitric oxide, a compound that relaxes and widens blood vessels. So you've got two things nudging your blood pressure in the same downward direction. This isn't about one blocking the other in your liver, it's just an additive effect.
The good news is that the research here is reassuring. Any blood pressure dip from beet nitrates tends to be mild and brief. Still, if you stack it on carvedilol, you might feel a bit more lightheaded or dizzy, especially when standing up quickly. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and stand up slowly at first.
Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates
2 of 2Carvedilol also falls under Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the gist for these two together. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear carvedilol. The grape seed extract in SuperBeets Heart Chews may slightly slow that enzyme down in lab studies, which in theory could let a bit more carvedilol linger in your system. If that happened, you might notice more of the drug's usual effects, like a slower heart rate, lower blood pressure, dizziness, or feeling tired.
That said, this is very much a theoretical concern. It's based on test-tube data, not real people, and it's rated minor and unlikely. On top of that, the beet portion can gently lower blood pressure on its own. None of this means you can't use both, but please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, especially since you take a heart medication.

About Carvedilol
What Is Carvedilol Used For?
Brand names: Coreg, Coreg CR
Carvedilol is used to treat three main conditions: mild to severe chronic heart failure, high blood pressure (hypertension), and left ventricular dysfunction (reduced pumping ability of the heart's main chamber) in people who have survived a heart attack. For heart failure, it is typically used alongside other medications such as diuretics, ACE inhibitors, and digitalis to help improve survival and reduce hospital stays.
For people who have had a heart attack with reduced heart function, carvedilol is used to lower the risk of dying from cardiovascular causes. For high blood pressure, it can be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medications.
