Doxylamine Succinate falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Iboga interacts with.

Theoretically, iboga might decrease the effectiveness of anticholinergic drugs.
In vitro research shows that iboga can inhibit acetylcholinesterase and might increase acetylcholine levels. However, the constituent ibogaine does not appear to have this effect.

Doxylamine (the sleep aid in Unisom) works by blocking acetylcholine and histamine, which is what makes you drowsy and also causes the classic dry mouth, blurry vision, and constipation. The concern on file is that Iboga, in lab-dish studies, may raise acetylcholine levels by blocking the enzyme that breaks it down. More acetylcholine could, in theory, push back against doxylamine and make it work a little less well, so you might notice it not knocking you out as effectively.

I want to be honest about how soft this is. This comes only from test-tube research, not from people, and interestingly the main Iboga compound (ibogaine) did not show this effect. On top of that, Iboga itself carries serious heart and safety risks and is illegal here. I would not combine these. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing anything with your sleep aid.
