Here's the simple version: guayusa is basically a caffeine drink, like coffee or yerba mate. Pseudoephedrine, the decongestant in Actifed, is a stimulant in its own right. When you stack two stimulants together, their effects can pile up. The triprolidine part is an antihistamine and doesn't really add to this, so it's the caffeine plus pseudoephedrine combo that matters.

What might that feel like? Think a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, feeling wired, trouble sleeping, or a bump in blood pressure. This is mostly expert-opinion level concern, not a hard safety alarm, and an occasional cup is gentler than concentrated caffeine pills. Still, if you have heart issues or high blood pressure, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
