Dalteparin falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Ip-6 interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of IP-6 with drugs that affect platelet aggregation may increase the risk of bleeding. In vitro IP-6 can inhibit platelet aggregation. This effect has not been demonstrated in humans.

Dalteparin is an injectable blood thinner that lowers your blood's ability to clot. IP-6 is interesting here because, in a test tube, it can slightly reduce how well platelets clump together. In theory, stacking that mild effect on top of dalteparin could nudge your bleeding risk a little higher. You might notice things like easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that are slow to stop.

The honest truth, though: this only shows up in lab studies, not in real people, and it's rated unlikely to cause trouble. So I don't want you to panic. Still, since dalteparin already thins your blood, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding an IP-6 supplement, especially around any surgery or procedure.

IP-6 (inositol hexaphosphate, also called phytic acid or phytate) is a natural compound found in high-fiber plant foods and sold as a supplement, often paired with inositol. It is most studied as an antioxidant and mineral binder, but human evidence for its popular uses—such as cancer prevention—is limited and not conclusive. About Dalteparin Injection

What Is Dalteparin Injection Used For?

Brand name: Fragmin

Fragmin (dalteparin) injection is used to prevent blood clots (deep vein thrombosis, or DVT) in people having hip replacement or abdominal surgery, and in hospitalized patients who are largely immobile due to acute illness. It is also used to reduce ischemic complications — meaning clot-related events — in people with unstable angina or a type of heart attack called non-Q-wave MI, when given alongside aspirin.

Fragmin is approved for the extended treatment of symptomatic venous thromboembolism (VTE — blood clots in the veins or lungs) in adults with cancer, to reduce the chance of clots coming back, for up to six months. It is also approved to treat symptomatic VTE in pediatric patients from birth (at least 35 weeks gestational age) onward. Fragmin is not intended for the acute (immediate emergency) treatment of VTE.
