Propranolol Hydrochloride falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Isopropylnorsynephrine interacts with.

Theoretically, isopropylnorsynephrine might decrease the effects of antihypertensive drugs.
In vitro research shows that isopropylnorsynephrine is a highly selective, direct-acting beta-adrenergic receptor agonist with positive chronotropic effects, and hypertension has been reported in patients taking combination products containing isopropylnorsynephrine and other stimulants.

Here's the simple version. Propranolol works by calming down certain receptors (called beta-adrenergic receptors) to help relax blood vessels and steady heart rate. Isopropylnorsynephrine does the opposite, acting like a stimulant that switches those same receptors on. So the two can essentially tug in opposite directions, which may blunt how well propranolol works and could nudge heart rate and blood pressure up.

I'll be honest: this is mostly based on lab research, not strong human studies, so it's a theoretical concern rather than a proven danger. Still, propranolol oral solution is given to babies for hemangiomas, and I would never want a stimulant working against it. Please run any product containing this ingredient by your child's doctor or pharmacist first.

Brand name: Hemangeol

This intravenous (IV) form of propranolol is used in hospital settings to treat serious, life-threatening heart rhythm problems. It works on several types of abnormal rhythms, including those that happen during anesthesia or are caused by drug toxicity.

Specific uses include fast heart rhythms coming from the upper chambers of the heart (supraventricular tachycardia), dangerous rhythms caused by too much digitalis in the body, and certain fast rhythms triggered by excess stress hormones (catecholamines) during surgery.
