Amlodipine Besilate falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Kiwi interacts with.

Clinical research suggests that consuming kiwi reduces systolic and diastolic blood pressure in hypertensive individuals. Theoretically, concomitant use of kiwi and antihypertensive drugs may increase the risk of hypotension when used in combination with drugs that lower blood pressure. These include captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), losartan (Cozaar), valsartan (Diovan), diltiazem (Cardizem), amlodipine (Norvasc), hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDiuril), furosemide (Lasix), and many others.

Here's the gist with kiwi and your amlodipine (Istin). Amlodipine already works to lower your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. Some research hints that eating kiwi may nudge blood pressure down a little too. So in theory, the two together could lower your numbers a bit more than amlodipine alone.

If your pressure dips too far, you might notice dizziness, lightheadedness (especially standing up quickly), or feeling tired or flushed. That said, this is a theoretical concern based on how kiwi behaves, and a normal serving of fruit is unlikely to cause trouble for most folks. If you eat kiwi often or take a concentrated kiwi supplement, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your readings.
