Why this applies to Pentobarbital

Pentobarbital falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Kratom interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might increase the risk for adverse CNS depressant effects.
Kratom contains mitragynine, a mu-receptor agonist that may cause respiratory depression. Although results from animal research suggest that mitragynine causes less respiratory depression than the CNS depressant codeine, fatalities have been reported for patients who ingested a combination of kratom and O-desmethyltramadol, another mu-receptor agonist. Additionally, observational research suggests that adverse effects such as drowsiness and coma are more likely to occur in individuals taking kratom in combination with agents such as opioids and sedatives. Theoretically, ingesting kratom along with other CNS depressants can increase the risk of adverse effects, including drowsiness, coma, and/or severe or fatal respiratory depression.

Pentobarbital is a barbiturate, a strong sedative that calms the brain and slows things down. Kratom has its own sedating, opioid-like side to it. When you stack these two together, both can press the brain's brakes at the same time. That raises the worry for too much drowsiness, confusion, very slow or shallow breathing, and in a worst case, slipping into a coma. With a powerful sleep medicine like this, that combined slowdown is the real concern.

To be fair, this warning is theoretical, based on how each acts in the body rather than solid studies in people. But because barbiturates are potent and unforgiving, I'd treat it seriously. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Talk it through with your doctor or pharmacist first.
