Here's the thing to keep an eye on with NyQuil and lemon balm. NyQuil already contains doxylamine (a sedating antihistamine) and dextromethorphan, both of which can make you drowsy. Lemon balm appears to have its own mild calming, sleep-promoting effect. Put them together and those effects may stack, so you could feel extra sleepy, foggy, dizzy, or slow to react. That matters most if you plan to drive or do anything that needs full alertness.

This is a theoretical, additive concern based on smaller studies, not a dangerous chemical reaction, and the acetaminophen part isn't really involved. NyQuil is meant to help you rest anyway, so a little extra drowsiness may not bother you. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist if you take lemon balm regularly.
