Here's the simple version: lemon balm has a mild calming, sleepy quality of its own. Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) already slows down the central nervous system, so pairing the two could add up and leave you feeling more drowsy, foggy, lightheaded, or low-energy than usual. This isn't about lemon balm changing how your body breaks Suboxone down, it's just two relaxing things stacking on top of each other.

To be fair, this concern is mostly theoretical and based on small or animal studies, so for many people a cup of lemon balm tea won't cause noticeable trouble. Concentrated supplement capsules are more likely to add up than an occasional tea. Still, since Suboxone affects breathing and alertness, please run it past your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
