Here's the gist: in animal studies, Madagascar periwinkle seemed to push blood sugar down on its own. Humalog (insulin lispro) already lowers your blood sugar fast after meals, so stacking something that also drops glucose could, in theory, push you too low. That means a higher chance of hypoglycemia, with signs like shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling faint.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This is only based on diabetic rats, not people, so it's a theoretical concern, not a proven one. I'd also gently remind you that the raw plant itself is toxic and isn't safe to use at home. If you're considering it, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist first, and keep a closer eye on your glucose readings.
