Protriptyline falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Marjoram interacts with.

In vitro research suggests that marjoram extract can inhibit acetylcholinesterase activity. Theoretically, using marjoram in medicinal amounts along with anticholinergic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of marjoram or the anticholinergic agent.
Some anticholinergic drugs include atropine, benztropine (Cogentin), biperiden (Akineton), procyclidine (Kemadrin), and trihexyphenidyl (Artane).

Here's the gist for protriptyline (Vivactil). Like other tricyclic antidepressants, it has built-in anticholinergic activity, which is why it can cause dry mouth, constipation, blurry vision, and trouble urinating. In lab studies, marjoram seems to do the opposite: it may gently block the enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine, nudging that chemical higher. So in theory, concentrated marjoram and protriptyline could work against each other, slightly blunting each one's effect.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical, based only on test-tube findings, not real patients. Using marjoram as a kitchen herb is very unlikely to matter. If you're thinking about marjoram capsules or essential oil, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
