Here's the thing to know with this pairing: it's about your skin and the sun, not how your body processes the medicine. Paliperidone (Invega) can occasionally make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, and masterwort contains furanocoumarins, natural plant compounds that do the very same thing. Put them together and that sun sensitivity may stack up, so you could sunburn faster or break out in a rash after less time outdoors than usual.

I'll be straight with you: this is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds behave, not something proven in studies. It doesn't change how well Paliperidone treats your symptoms. If you do use both, be smart about sunscreen, hats, and shade, and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Paliperidone Used For?

Brand name: Invega

Paliperidone treats schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. The extended-release tablets (Invega and generic paliperidone) are approved for schizophrenia in adults and adolescents ages 12–17, and for schizoaffective disorder in adults.

Several injectable formulations are also available, each with specific roles. Invega Sustenna and Erzofri extended-release are once-monthly injections approved for schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder in adults. Invega Trinza is a once-every-3-month injection for schizophrenia in adults who have already been stabilized on a once-monthly paliperidone palmitate injection for at least four months. Invega Hafyera is a once-every-6-month injection for schizophrenia in adults already stabilized on a once-monthly or every-3-month paliperidone palmitate injection.
