IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Mirikizumab-mrkz
Mirikizumab-mrkz falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Neem interacts with.
Animal research suggests that neem might have immunostimulant effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Omvoh (mirikizumab) is a lab-made antibody that calms an overactive immune system to help control ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. The concern here is the opposite of overload: neem may gently rev the immune system up. In theory, that could push against what Omvoh is trying to do and make it work a little less well, which might mean your gut symptoms (belly pain, urgency, diarrhea, blood in the stool) aren't as well controlled.
I want to be honest that this is a theoretical worry based only on animal and lab studies, not real patient reports, so please don't panic. Still, since Omvoh is a serious immune medicine, it's worth a quick chat with your doctor or pharmacist before starting any neem product.

“Mirikizumab (Omvoh) treats inflammatory bowel disease by dialing down part of the immune system, and its interaction list deserves genuine wariness, most of all around the liver. About Neem
What is Neem?
- Skin conditions
- Dental and gum health
- Antimicrobial and antiparasitic
- Digestive upset
- Blood sugar support
- Insect repellent/pesticide
Neem is a tree from India used for centuries in traditional medicine, especially for skin, dental, and antimicrobial purposes. Some small studies are promising for oral health and skin, but high-quality human evidence is limited for most uses. Neem oil and seed extracts can be toxic if swallowed, especially in children, so use with caution and talk to your pharmacist or doctor first.
