Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the idea behind this pairing. Tezspire (tezepelumab) is a lab-made antibody that calms down part of your immune system to settle the airway swelling that triggers asthma flares. Neem seems to push in the opposite direction. In animal and test-tube studies only, neem appears to rev up immune activity, so in theory it could work against what Tezspire is trying to do and make your asthma control a little less reliable.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern, not something proven in people, and the evidence is weak. Still, if your asthma is hard to control, it's not worth gambling. Before adding a neem supplement, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor so you don't risk losing ground on your breathing.

Neem

Neem is a tree from India used for centuries in traditional medicine, especially for skin, dental, and antimicrobial purposes. Some small studies are promising for oral health and skin, but high-quality human evidence is limited for most uses. Neem oil and seed extracts can be toxic if swallowed, especially in children, so use with caution and talk to your pharmacist or doctor first.
