Aprocitentan falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Nicotinamide Riboside interacts with.

Theoretically, nicotinamide riboside may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs, potentially increasing the risk for hypotension.
One small clinical study suggests that nicotinamide riboside can modestly reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients. However, other clinical research did not find a reduction in blood pressure when compared with control.

Here's the gist: Aprocitentan (Tryvio) is a blood pressure medicine, and nicotinamide riboside (a form of vitamin B3) might nudge your blood pressure down a little on its own. Put the two together and, in theory, they could add up and lower your pressure a bit more than expected. If that happens, you may feel lightheaded, dizzy, or a little woozy when you stand up quickly.

I want to be honest about how weak this concern is. It's theoretical, based on how these things work, not on real cases of people getting into trouble. One small study hinted NR lowered blood pressure, while others showed no effect at all. Most folks won't notice a thing. Still, if you take both, it's smart to check your blood pressure now and then and mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

What Is Aprocitentan Used For?

Brand name: Tryvio

Tryvio is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It is specifically for people whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on other blood pressure medications — it is always used together with at least one other antihypertensive drug, not on its own.

Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack. Tryvio has not been studied as a standalone treatment and is not intended to replace other blood pressure medicines.
