Benazepril falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Nicotinamide Riboside interacts with.

Theoretically, nicotinamide riboside may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs, potentially increasing the risk for hypotension.
One small clinical study suggests that nicotinamide riboside can modestly reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients. However, other clinical research did not find a reduction in blood pressure when compared with control.

Here's the gist if you take benazepril (Lotensin) for blood pressure and you're curious about nicotinamide riboside. There's a theory that NR might nudge your blood pressure down a little on its own. If that happens while you're also on benazepril, the two could add up and lower your pressure more than expected.

I want to be honest about how soft this is. It's based on pharmacology and one small study, and other research found no blood pressure effect at all, so the evidence is weak. If it did matter, you might notice things like feeling dizzy, lightheaded, or woozy when you stand up. That's the main thing to watch for. Nothing to panic about, but it's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor before you start NR, especially if your readings already run low.

What Is Benazepril Used For?

Brand name: Lotensin

Benazepril — sold as Lotensin and under the generic names Benazepril and Benazepril Hydrochloride — is approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including strokes and heart attacks.

It can be used on its own or combined with a thiazide diuretic (water pill) when blood pressure needs extra control. Lotensin is specifically indicated for the treatment of hypertension to lower blood pressure.
