Timolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Nicotinamide Riboside interacts with.

Theoretically, nicotinamide riboside may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs, potentially increasing the risk for hypotension.
One small clinical study suggests that nicotinamide riboside can modestly reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients. However, other clinical research did not find a reduction in blood pressure when compared with control.

Here's the short version: timolol already lowers your blood pressure and slows your heart rate. There's a theoretical concern that nicotinamide riboside (NR) might nudge blood pressure down a little too, so stacking the two could, in theory, add up. If that happened, you might feel the usual signs of low blood pressure, like dizziness, lightheadedness when standing up, or feeling unusually tired.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This is graded as a minor, theoretical interaction. One small study hinted NR might modestly lower blood pressure, but other studies found no effect at all. For most people this won't be a problem. Still, if you take timolol, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding NR, and check your blood pressure at home so you can spot any changes.

What Is Timolol Used For?

Brand names: Blocadren, Timol, Timoptic

Timolol is available in ophthalmic (eye) forms and as an oral tablet, and each form has its own approved uses. Ophthalmic formulations — including Betimol, Istalol, Timolol GFS, Timolol hemihydrate, Timolol Maleate eye drops, and Timolol Maleate Ophthalmic Gel Forming Solution — are used to lower elevated intraocular pressure (pressure inside the eye) in people with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.

Timolol Maleate tablets are used orally for three separate conditions: treating high blood pressure (alone or combined with other blood pressure medicines), reducing the risk of death and repeat heart attack in people who have survived a heart attack and are clinically stable, and preventing migraine headaches.
