Azilsartan falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Nicotinamide Riboside interacts with.

Theoretically, nicotinamide riboside may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs, potentially increasing the risk for hypotension.
One small clinical study suggests that nicotinamide riboside can modestly reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients. However, other clinical research did not find a reduction in blood pressure when compared with control.

Here's the gist with Edarbi (azilsartan) and nicotinamide riboside: this isn't about how your body breaks the drug down. Azilsartan already lowers blood pressure by relaxing your vessels, and there's a thought that NR might nudge blood pressure down a little too. Stack them and, in theory, your blood pressure could dip a touch more than expected.

I want to be straight with you though, this is very much a theoretical concern. One small study hinted NR lowered blood pressure, but other research showed no real effect. So the risk is minor. If you do start NR, just keep an eye out for feeling dizzy, lightheaded, or woozy when you stand up, and check in with your pharmacist or doctor before making any changes.

Brand name: Edarbi

Azilsartan medoxomil tablets — sold as both the generic Azilsartan Medoxomil and the brand Edarbi — are approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. Bringing blood pressure down lowers the risk of serious cardiovascular events, especially stroke and heart attack.

The medication can be used on its own or alongside other blood pressure medicines. It is not a cure for high blood pressure, and managing the condition fully often involves lifestyle steps like limiting sodium, exercising, and quitting smoking.
