In vitro, purple nut sedge inhibits platelet aggregation. Theoretically, purple nut sedge might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

The medicine you're asking about, Percodan, combines aspirin with the opioid oxycodone. The interaction here is all about the aspirin side. Aspirin already thins your blood a bit by keeping platelets from clumping together. In lab dish studies, purple nut sedge seems to do something similar. So the worry is that stacking the two could add up and make bleeding a little easier than usual.

In real life that might show up as easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or stomach upset. I'll be honest though, this caution comes only from test-tube research, not human studies, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, since you're already on aspirin, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this supplement.
