Insulin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Quassia interacts with.

In animals, quassia extract reduced levels of fasting glucose. Theoretically, quassia might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. This might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in some patients. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the gist with NovoRapid (insulin) and quassia. Insulin already does one main job: it pulls your blood sugar down. In animal studies, quassia extract also nudged fasting blood sugar lower. So the worry isn't that quassia changes how insulin is broken down. It's that the two could stack up and push your sugar too low.

If that happened, you might feel the usual low-sugar signs: shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded. I'll be honest though, this is based on lab and animal work, not solid human studies, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. If you'd like to try quassia, check your blood sugar a little more often and talk with your pharmacist or doctor first. Don't change your insulin dose on your own.
