These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Rauwolscine interacts with whole categories of medication. Chlorpheniramine, Phenylephrine, Phenyltoloxamine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Rauwolscine in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Chlorpheniramine, Phenylephrine, Phenyltoloxamine
Chlorpheniramine, Phenylephrine, Phenyltoloxamine falls under SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS — the group Rauwolscine interacts with.
In animal research, intraperitoneal rauwolscine lowered the seizure threshold level of the drug metrazol.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the basic idea with this combo. This medicine blends an antihistamine (chlorpheniramine), a decongestant (phenylephrine), and another antihistamine-type ingredient (phenyltoloxamine). Antihistamines like these can slightly lower the seizure threshold, meaning they may make seizures a touch easier to trigger in people prone to them. Rauwolscine, a stimulant cousin of yohimbine, may do the same thing.
So in theory, taking them together could add up and modestly raise seizure risk. I'll be honest though: this is based only on animal lab work, not real people, so the evidence is weak. The bigger everyday concern is that both can raise heart rate, blood pressure, and jitteriness. If you have a seizure history, heart issues, or anxiety, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

STIMULANT DRUGS
2 of 2Chlorpheniramine, Phenylephrine, Phenyltoloxamine also falls under STIMULANT DRUGS.
Rauwolscine has demonstrated stimulant effects in animal research.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The piece of this combination product to focus on here is phenylephrine, which is a decongestant that works by tightening blood vessels. It can already nudge your blood pressure up and make your heart beat a little faster. Rauwolscine is a stimulant that boosts norepinephrine, your body's own 'rev it up' chemical, so stacking the two could add together and make those effects stronger.
In real life that might show up as a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, headache, or trouble sleeping. The chlorpheniramine part may also make you drowsy, so you could feel a bit pulled in both directions. Honestly, this concern is mostly theoretical and based on animal research, so I wouldn't panic. Still, if you have any heart or blood pressure issues, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
