These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Rauwolscine interacts with whole categories of medication. Dextromethorphan, Guaifenesin, Pseudoephedrine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Rauwolscine in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Dextromethorphan, Guaifenesin, Pseudoephedrine
Dextromethorphan, Guaifenesin, Pseudoephedrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Rauwolscine interacts with.
Rauwolscine is structurally related to yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combo cough and cold product has three pieces, and the one that matters here is the dextromethorphan (the cough suppressant). Your liver clears dextromethorphan using an enzyme called CYP2D6. Lab studies suggest yohimbine, which rauwolscine is closely related to, may slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let dextromethorphan build up a bit, leading to more drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling foggy.
Keep in mind this is theoretical, based on test-tube data, so it may not cause real trouble for most people. The bigger concern is that both rauwolscine and the pseudoephedrine are stimulants, so together they can push up your heart rate and blood pressure and make you jittery. If you have any heart issues, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

STIMULANT DRUGS
2 of 2Dextromethorphan, Guaifenesin, Pseudoephedrine also falls under STIMULANT DRUGS.
Rauwolscine has demonstrated stimulant effects in animal research.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to watch with this combo. Your cough and cold product contains pseudoephedrine, which is a decongestant that already nudges up your heart rate and blood pressure. Rauwolscine is its own stimulant, so stacking the two could pile those effects on top of each other. The realistic worry is feeling jittery, having a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, trouble sleeping, headache, or anxiety.
I'll be honest that this interaction is mostly theoretical, based on animal studies rather than solid human data, so it isn't a guaranteed problem. Still, since both are stimulants, it makes sense to be cautious, especially if you have any heart issues or high blood pressure. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using them together.
