Trazodone HCl falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Rauwolscine interacts with.

Theoretically, rauwolscine might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
Rauwolscine is structurally related to yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the gist: rauwolscine is a close cousin of yohimbine, and lab studies suggest yohimbine can slow down a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Trazodone is one of the medicines that this enzyme helps clear from your body. So in theory, taking rauwolscine alongside trazodone could let trazodone build up a bit more than usual.

If that happened, you might notice trazodone's usual effects feel stronger, things like drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, or low blood pressure when you stand up. On top of that, rauwolscine is a stimulant that can raise heart rate, blood pressure, and anxiety, which works against what trazodone is often used for. I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical and based on lab data, not real patient reports. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
