Bosentan falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Rehmannia interacts with.

Theoretically, rehmannia might increase the risk of hypotension when taken with antihypertensive drugs.
Animal research shows that rehmannia may have hypotensive effects. Laboratory research shows that formulations of dried and processed rehmannia root inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE).

Here's the gist with Rehmannia and bosentan (Tracleer). Bosentan already widens blood vessels to ease the pressure in your lungs, and a side effect of that is lower blood pressure overall. Rehmannia, in lab and animal studies, also seems to nudge blood pressure down a bit. So the worry is that the two together could add up and drop your blood pressure more than expected.

If that happened, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or faint, especially when standing up quickly. I want to be honest though: this is mostly theoretical, based on animal and test-tube research, not solid human studies. It may never cause a problem for you. Still, since blood pressure swings matter on bosentan, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

What Is Bosentan Used For?

Brand name: Tracleer

Bosentan is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) — high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. In adults, it helps improve the ability to exercise and slows how quickly the disease gets worse.

In children aged 3 years and older with idiopathic (no known cause) or congenital (present from birth) PAH, bosentan is used to lower resistance in the lung blood vessels, which is expected to improve exercise ability. Tracleer is one brand approved for both adults and pediatric patients with PAH.
