Toujeo (insulin glargine) is your long-acting background insulin, designed to keep blood sugar steady through the day and night. The concern here is fairly simple: in animal studies, rehmannia seemed to lower blood sugar on its own. If that holds true in people, layering it on top of your insulin could push your glucose down a little too far.

That means you might notice more of the usual low blood sugar warning signs, like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or confusion. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical worry based mostly on lab and animal work, not strong human proof. If you'd like to try rehmannia, check with your doctor or pharmacist first and keep an eye on your readings so any dose adjustments are made safely.
