Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Heparin
Heparin falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Reishi Mushroom interacts with.
A dose of 1.5 grams daily of reishi mushroom does not seem to decrease platelet aggregation, but a higher dose of 3 grams daily does.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Heparin is already a powerful blood thinner that slows your body's ability to form clots. The concern here is simple: stacking reishi on top of it could push that effect a little further. Reishi may have mild blood-thinning activity of its own at higher doses, so combining the two might raise your chance of bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or bleeding that takes longer to stop.
That said, this is mostly a theoretical worry based on lab and animal work. In people, about 1.5 grams of reishi daily didn't seem to affect platelets, while 3 grams a day did. Food or light supplement use likely matters little, but please don't start or stop reishi without checking with your doctor or pharmacist first, especially since you're on heparin.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Heparin page
“Heparin exists to keep clots from forming, and all 202 supplements on this list touch that same clotting machinery, so treat these pairings with real care. Nearly all lean the same way, adding antiplatelet or anticoagulant activity that can push a therapeutic dose toward bruising and bleeding.”

About Reishi Mushroom
What is Reishi Mushroom?
- Immune support
- Fatigue and general well-being
- Stress and sleep
- Inflammation
- Heart and cholesterol health
Reishi is a traditional Asian mushroom widely used to support the immune system and overall wellness. Human evidence for most of its claimed benefits is limited or low-quality, so it should not replace proven treatments. It is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or take other medicines.
About Heparin Injection
What Is Heparin Injection Used For?
Brand name: Heparin
Heparin Sodium Injection is used to prevent and treat blood clots in the veins and lungs (venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism), including after major abdominal or chest surgery. It is also used for atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm) when there is a risk of clots breaking off and traveling through the body, and to treat disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), a serious condition where the blood clots abnormally throughout the body.
It is also used to prevent clotting during heart and artery surgery, to treat peripheral arterial embolism (a clot blocking blood flow to the limbs), and as an anticoagulant during blood transfusions, heart-lung bypass (extracorporeal circulation), and dialysis procedures.

Heparin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Heparin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Reishi Mushroom — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
