ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Ibuprofen, Oxycodone
Ibuprofen, Oxycodone falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Reishi Mushroom interacts with.
A dose of 1.5 grams daily of reishi mushroom does not seem to decrease platelet aggregation, but a higher dose of 3 grams daily does.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind with Combunox (which combines ibuprofen and oxycodone): the ibuprofen part already carries some bleeding risk on its own. As an NSAID, it can irritate the stomach lining and make platelets a bit less sticky. Reishi may add to that. In lab and animal studies, higher doses of reishi (around 3 grams a day) appeared to slow platelet clumping, while lower doses (about 1.5 grams) did not.
So putting them together could, in theory, raise your chance of bruising easily or stomach bleeding. This is based on weak, mostly lab-level evidence, so it's not a sure thing. Still, if you take this combo regularly or use concentrated reishi, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before continuing.
