ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Lispro Recombinant
Insulin Lispro Recombinant falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Reishi Mushroom interacts with.
Animal research suggests that reishi mushroom decreases blood sugar. However, in patients with type 2 diabetes, taking reishi mushroom does not reduce fasting glucose levels, and its effects on glycated hemoglobin are inconsistent.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Humalog (insulin lispro) and reishi mushroom. Insulin lispro is your fast-acting mealtime insulin, and it already does one main job well: it lowers your blood sugar. The theory here is that reishi might nudge your blood sugar down a little too, so stacking the two could add up to lower readings than you expect.
I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. Most of it comes from animal studies, and in people with type 2 diabetes, reishi didn't reliably lower fasting glucose. So this is more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, if you start reishi, watch for signs of low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion), check your numbers a bit more often, and loop in your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

This page covers Reishi Mushroom only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Insulin Lispro Recombinant page lists 242 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Chelation Therapy Products (major), Siberian Cocklebur (major), Acai (moderate), African Wild Potato (moderate) and Agaricus Mushroom (moderate).
By severity: 2 major · 211 moderate · 29 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Insulin Lispro Recombinant page
“Two of the 242 entries here rate major, and they are the place to start. Siberian cocklebur has caused severe hypoglycemia, and chelation products containing EDTA can drop blood glucose steeply while also interfering with the insulin itself, so neither belongs anywhere near insulin lispro (Humalog KwikPen).”

What is Reishi Mushroom?
- Immune support
- Fatigue and general well-being
- Stress and sleep

- Heart and cholesterol health
Reishi is a traditional Asian mushroom widely used to support the immune system and overall wellness. It is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or take other medicines.
