Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Saffron interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of saffron and CNS depressants might have additive sedative effects.
Clinical research shows that taking saffron extract 60 mg orally daily for 26 weeks can cause drowsiness and sedation. Animal research suggests that adding saffron to hexobarbital further increases sleeping and slows motor activity.

Here's the basic idea with saffron and your aripiprazole lauroxil (Aristada) shot. Aripiprazole can make some people feel drowsy or mentally foggy, and saffron, especially in concentrated supplement doses, has been shown to cause some sleepiness too. Putting the two together might add up to more tiredness, slower reactions, or trouble concentrating. This isn't about saffron changing your medication's levels, it's just two things that can each tug you toward feeling sluggish.

I want to be honest that this concern is mostly theoretical, based on how each acts in the body and a few small studies, not strong proof. The pinch of saffron in cooking is very unlikely to matter. If you're considering a daily saffron supplement, run it by your pharmacist or prescriber first so you can watch for extra drowsiness together.

Aripiprazole injection is used to treat schizophrenia and to provide maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder in adults. Different injectable products carry these approvals.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
