Sesame + Chlorpropamide
Chlorpropamide brand names: Diabinese, Chlorpropam.
Sesame has a moderate interaction with Chlorpropamide. Taking sesame oil with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Chlorpropamide
Chlorpropamide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Sesame interacts with.
Clinical studies show that sesame oil can decrease plasma glucose and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels. Some clinical research in patients taking glibenclamide shows that using sesame oil or a blend of sesame oil and rice bran oil in place of other oil for cooking reduces plasma glucose more than glibenclamide alone. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with sesame and chlorpropamide (Diabinese). Chlorpropamide already lowers your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. Sesame oil, in some small studies, also seems to bring blood sugar and HbA1c down a bit. Stack the two and the worry is that your numbers could dip too low, what we call hypoglycemia. With chlorpropamide that's worth respecting, because it's long-acting and low blood sugar from it can hang around. Watch for shakiness, sweating, confusion, hunger, or feeling lightheaded.
To be fair, this is mostly a theoretical concern based on how sesame behaves, and a little sesame in cooking is unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated sesame oil used regularly is the bigger question. Don't change anything on your own. Keep checking your sugars and chat with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Sesame
What is Sesame?
- Heart and cholesterol health
- Blood pressure support
- Source of healthy fats and minerals
- Skin and hair care (topical oil)
- Antioxidant support
- Cooking and nutrition
Sesame is a nutritious seed and oil widely used in cooking and traditional medicine, and it provides healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidant compounds called lignans. Some early research suggests sesame may modestly help with cholesterol and blood pressure, but the evidence is limited. Sesame is also a common, sometimes serious, food allergen, so people with seed allergies should be careful.

Chlorpropamide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Chlorpropamide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Sesame — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
