Avandamet combines two diabetes medicines: metformin and rosiglitazone. Both work to lower your blood sugar. The concern with Solomon's Seal is a theoretical one, meaning it comes from how the herb behaves in lab and animal studies, not from solid human trials. Some of its natural compounds might nudge blood sugar a little lower on their own. Stacked on top of your medication, that could in theory add up and push your sugar too low.

If that happened, you might feel shaky, sweaty, lightheaded, hungry, or unusually tired. To be clear, this link is weak and not well proven. Still, since you're already controlling your blood sugar, it's worth checking your readings a bit more closely if you start this herb, and chatting with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
