Treprostinil (Inh) falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Soy interacts with.

Theoretically soy protein may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs and increase the risk of hypotension.
Although some contradictory research exists, most clinical evidence suggests that consuming soy protein modestly reduces systolic and diastolic blood pressure in individuals with prehypertension or hypertension.

Here's the simple version: inhaled treprostinil (Tyvaso) works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, which naturally lowers blood pressure a bit. Soy protein, in its own gentle way, has also been shown to modestly bring down blood pressure. Put the two together and those effects can stack, so in theory your pressure could dip a little more than expected.

What might that feel like? Think lightheadedness, dizziness when you stand up, flushing, or feeling more tired than usual, which happen to be common treprostinil side effects anyway. This is a modest, mostly theoretical concern, and normal amounts of soy foods in your diet are unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated soy supplements are worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Treprostinil Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand name: Tyvaso

Treprostinil oral inhalation is used to treat two serious lung conditions that raise pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs. It helps improve how much physical activity you can do.

Tyvaso inhalation solution and Tyvaso DPI are both indicated to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1) and pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3). Clinical studies establishing effectiveness in PAH primarily included patients with moderate symptoms (NYHA Class III) whose PAH was idiopathic, heritable, or related to connective tissue disease. Studies in PH-ILD primarily included patients with idiopathic interstitial pneumonia, combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema, or connective tissue disease-related lung disease.
