Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Crizotinib
Crizotinib falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Strawberry interacts with.
Drugs that might be affected include some chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), protease inhibitors (amprenavir, indinavir, nelfinavir, saquinavir), H2 antagonists (cimetidine, ranitidine), some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, verapamil), corticosteroids, erythromycin, cisapride (Propulsid), fexofenadine (Allegra), cyclosporine, loperamide (Imodium), quinidine, and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for Crizotinib (Xalkori): your body uses a little pump called P-glycoprotein to push some of this drug back out and keep its levels in check. Lab studies hint that strawberry extract may slow that pump down. If that happened in real life, a bit more crizotinib could stick around, which in theory might mean stronger side effects like nausea, vision changes, swelling, fatigue, or liver enzyme bumps.
I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. The evidence is only from test-tube and animal research, not people, so it's theoretical. Eating strawberries as a normal food is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated strawberry supplements are the bigger question mark. Since crizotinib is a serious cancer medicine, just run any strawberry supplement past your oncologist or pharmacist first.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.
- AHigh-quality meta-analysis (quantitative systematic review).
- BCase-control study.
- CConsensus.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Crizotinib page
“Grapefruit tops my worry list for crizotinib (Xalkori), a targeted pill for ALK-positive lung cancer. It blocks the enzyme (CYP3A4) that clears crizotinib, letting levels climb and side effects with them, and it is one of eight major-rated entries among the 157 supplements and herbs on file for this drug.”
