Here's the concern with pairing Sweet Annie and chlorpropamide: both can put a little extra stress on your liver. Chlorpropamide is processed by the liver, and there have been scattered reports of Sweet Annie irritating liver tissue. Put them together and, in theory, those effects could add up. This isn't about your blood sugar going haywire, it's about the liver itself.

I'll be honest with you, this is based on weak, anecdotal evidence, not solid studies, so it's more of a caution than a red alert. Still, watch for signs like yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, unusual tiredness, or pain in the upper right belly. If anything like that shows up, check in with your doctor or pharmacist before continuing.
